We are pleased to invite you to the third edition of the event “University as an Opportunity,” which we are preparing for November 15, 2023, as part of the Week of Humanities. We will host a panel discussion titled “Women, Science, and Other Dangerous Things,” a title alluding to the famous book by cognitive linguist George Lakoff: “Women, Fire, and Dangerous Things: What Categories Reveal About the Mind.” It demonstrates how the categories we use to organize our world reflect our mental structures and how they vary in different languages and cultures. The panel discussion will be held in Czech.
