During the ceremonial session, the University of West Bohemia in Pilsen awarded the honorary title of emeritus professor for the first time in its history. This honor was bestowed upon the Czech philosopher, religious scholar, and university educator Prof. ThDr. Otakar Funda, Dr. theol., based on the proposal of the Dean of the Faculty of Arts. Professor Funda, now an emeritus professor, began teaching ethics, philosophy of religion, and theological anthropology at UWB in 1995.
